Can I register at the event?
Yes – if the team you are registering in has less than 30 members. If your team already has 30 members, we can place you into another smaller team. Register at the information desk on your way into the pool.
What time can I arrive?
MS Mighty Swim participants will have access to Unley Swimming Centre from 11:30am onwards on Saturday 8 February. Should you wish to enter the pool at an earlier time, normal entry fees will apply.
Where do I park?
Parking is very limited as we are in a residential area – strict parking rules apply. Please keep in mind that if you park in violation of the regulations and you receive a fine, this fine will not be waived by the City of Unley under any circumstances.
We recommend making use of public transport – there are train and bus stops close by.
Can I buy merchandise at the event?
Yes – you can purchase all merchandise available on the website, at the information desk at any time during the event.
Can I make a donation at the event?
Yes – you can make a cash or EFT donation at the information desk at any time during the event.
Will there be a lifeguard?
Yes – there will be a lifeguard monitoring the pool for the whole 24-hour event.
Can I stay at the pool overnight?
Yes, camping is available for the 2025 Mighty Swim.
Will there be food and drinks available?
Yes – a food truck will be at the event providing delicious dinner and breakfast options, discounted for our MS Mighty Swim participants. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are available.
The Unley Swimming Centre kiosk will be open for the duration of the event for coffee, tea and a variety of other snacks.
You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks to the MS Mighty Swim; however, please note that no fridge or freezer space will be available for storage. Alcohol, glassware and glass containers are not permitted. Please refrain from eating near the water.
Where can I fill up my reusable water bottle?
The SA Water Quench Bench will be onsite with cold water to fill up your reusable drink bottles. MS water bottles will be available for purchase at the information desk.
Can I swim using a flotation device?
Only members of Team MS may use swimming and flotation devices unless discussed with the Mighty Swim events team prior to the event.
Is there a children’s pool?
Yes – the junior and toddler pools will be open during the regular Unley Swimming Centre operating hours. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Diving is prohibited.
When will the winners be announced?
The awards ceremony will be held at the end of the swim on Sunday 9 February, 12:30-1pm. This will be livestreamed on our MS Mighty Swim Facebook page for all who are unable to attend.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Highest individual fundraiser
- Runner-up highest individual fundraiser
- Highest fundraising team
- Runner-up highest fundraising team
- Most laps swam
An award will also be given to the individual who raises the most money in the week following the event. The winner of the post-event highest individual fundraiser will be contacted on Monday 21 April.
Is there somewhere I can store my valuables?
We recommend leaving valuables at home; however, lockers are available for hire from the Unley Swimming Centre kiosk.
Please hand any fundraising money in at the information desk, or hand directly to an MS staff member for safekeeping and tallying.
How many people can we have in our team?
You can have a maximum of 30 people per team. Teams with more than 30 people will be split up into smaller teams. If you have a small team, you may be paired with another smaller team.
What time am I swimming?
Your team leader is in charge of rostering swimmers – please speak to your team leader to find out what time you are rostered to swim.
What lane is my team swimming in?
Team leaders will be given a lane allocation prior to the event. However, lane changes can be made on the day. All lanes will be labelled with the team name, but if you are unsure please speak to someone at the information desk.
We request that there are only three team members sitting at the end of the pool at any one time. Each team will have their own area to set up your shades, chairs, eskies and anything else you need to create a relaxing space for your team. We encourage you to decorate your area with some team cheer too!
Do I have to wear a swimming cap?
Yes – swimming caps of different colours are used to distinguish teams when multiple teams are swimming in the same lane. You will receive your swimming cap when you check in or register on the day.
How do we keep track of our laps?
All teams will be issued with lap counting sheets to record laps swum but teams must organise your own lap counters. Team captains should roster lap counters as well as swimmers. Your lap-counting sheet will be collected by a volunteer every hour, and your total number of laps will be added to the scoreboard.
